MOSCOW – The Moscow Fire Department is releasing
its initial annual emergency response statistics, showing a notable increase in
call volume over the past several years, reflecting continued growth in service
demands across the community.
Over the past decade, the fire department has experienced a steady increase in
call volume. From 2021 through 2023, annual incident totals remained relatively
stable, ranging from 2,723 to 2,821 calls. In 2024, the department experienced a
significant increase (9%), responding to 3,002 incidents, followed by an
additional rise in 2025 to 3,046 incidents, marking the highest call volume in the
department’s history.
This increase highlights the growing demand for emergency services in our
community. Our volunteer and career personnel continue to meet these
challenges with professionalism and dedication, ensuring rapid and effective
responses while maintaining high service standards every day.
The increase in call volume underscores the importance of continued investment
in additional volunteer community staffing, student resident staffing, volunteer
student staffing, career staffing, training, equipment, facilities and infrastructure
to ensure the department remains prepared to meet growing community needs.
The Fire Department will use this data to support future planning, resource
allocation, and budget discussions for the upcoming budget preparation year and
beyond.
