A Vancouver man faces multiple charges — including assault, harassment and witness intimidation — after he allegedly attacked his ex-partner in Woodland and threatened to hurt her family.Â
Jonathan Brendan Beason, 27, of Vancouver pleaded not guilty to all seven criminal counts, three of which were assault charges, on Dec. 23, 2025. His next hearing is scheduled for Jan. 6.
Cowlitz County Superior Court Judge Thad Scudder issued a court appointed attorney to represent Beason, handed out three no-contact orders, and his bail was set at $20,000 on Dec. 18.
A Woodland police officer was dispatched at about 12:20 a.m. on Dec. 9, to a home near Beechwood Street and Pacific Avenue in Woodland, regarding a domestic violence episode, according to the police report that led to Beason's arrest.Â
A woman reported to police that her ex-boyfriend assaulted her and that he sent her a text saying he would return to attack her again.
She would later tell the police that Beason called her multiple times, asking her to step outside so they could talk. When she did, he asked for her cell phone, but she refused. Beason allegedly became angry and pushed her to the ground. A police office would note in the report that he saw an abrasion that was about 3 inches by 3 inches on the victim's back.
The woman said Beason told her that he would kill her and her family members, the report states.
A witness, who was driving in the area, told police about a tall, thin man pushing a young woman to the ground around that time.
According to the police report, after his ex got back up, she pushed Beason away and ran back into her home.
Beason was later arrested on Dec. 18.
History of violenceÂ
Court records show Beason has a criminal history, including a 2023 episode in which he pleaded guilty to a single felony harassment charge for sending threatening messages to a 17-year-old.
Beason also sent a video of himself with a gun to the victim and stated he was going to drive over to her home; he didn't care if she called the police and was ready to have a shootout with the cops, as stated in the police report.
The victim of the 2023 incident told police that she wasn’t in a relationship with Beason, she said they casually seen each other the last two weeks, but when it ended, he reportedly became angry.Â
Beason also pleaded guilty in 2023 to a felony harassment charge stemming from an incident that occurred in Oct. 1, 2022. During this incident, he reportedly pointed a BB gun at another person and, despite his friends trying to restrain him, was able to pull the trigger.
The altercation escalated into a full-on fight, during which Beason struck the victim in the back of the head with the BB gun. The victim needed multiple stitches.
Beason later sent a threatening video to the victim, according to the arresting report.Â
