A 16-year-old boy was killed in a shooting Tuesday night in Yakima.

Responding to a call about gunshots around North 20th and Englewood avenues, Yakima police found the wounded teen several blocks away. He was taken to MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital where he died, Yakima police spokesperson Yvette Inzunza said.

Yakima County Coroner Marshall Slight said he is working to schedule an autopsy. The boy’s name is not being released pending notification of family members, Slight said.

Inzunza said police are still investigating whether the shooting was gang-related.

The killing is the 10th homicide in the city this year, and the 18th in the county.
